Talent Healthcare Staffing is Hiring a Back Office Medical Assistant Near Tarzana, CA

**** Expertise with blood/lab draws and venipuncture - will draw 1-5 tubes from each patient. The clinic sees 100 patients a day ****

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
  • 1 year working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
  • Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years working as a MA in (specific specialty)
  • Experience with CS-Link/Epic
  • Phlebotomy certification (highly preferred)
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans

Job Duties:

  • Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds and record in medical record
  • Assist with tracking and monitoring department specific data
  • Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice
  • Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs
  • Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines
  • Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider
  • Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by provider

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $21.20 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
